One of the best parts about running JKK Customs has been turning our workshop into a place of creativity, laughter, and learning with the kids. Recently, we’ve been diving deep into one of our favorite projects — laser-engraved tumblers.
What started as a fun weekend experiment quickly became a full-on family adventure. Every color of powder coat seems to have its own personality: black absorbs the laser beautifully, white is stubborn and needs extra passes, and orange makes you work just a little harder to get that perfect shine. It’s been amazing (and sometimes hilarious) to see how each tumbler reacts differently under the beam.
Our xTool F1 Ultra has been the real MVP of this journey. It’s given us the ability to test, tweak, and finally lock in settings for each powder-coated color. The kids love helping — from lining up designs in the software to watching the rotary slowly turn their favorite cups as the laser works its magic. Every project feels like a small science experiment mixed with art class, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
We’re incredibly grateful to the PERS-47 team for giving us the opportunity to create custom tumblers for them. Projects like this remind us why we started JKK Customs: to bring families, creativity, and craftsmanship together.
This is just the beginning — now that we’ve dialed in our settings, we can’t wait to take on our next project. And knowing my kids, they already have about ten new ideas lined up!
Here’s to more engraving, more laughter, and more memories made one tumbler at a time.
